Event Details

This stimulating and engaging event will help you look at new ways of growing your business and beating the recession. The workshop will help you generate ideas and think differently about the opportunities and benefits of innovation.

For many ‘innovation’ represents a daunting concept – it's something they should be doing but don’t know how.

Aimed at directors and employees of West Midlands SMEs in all sectors and industries, expert advisors from Oxford Innovation will introduce innovation in plain English. 

Topics covered:

  • What is innovation and why should your company innovate?
  • How can you improve your innovation processes?
  • Managing risk and fostering creativity across your organisation
  • Case studies of how innovation has benefited businesse

 

Innovate & Grow is a workshop from the Innovation Advisory Service, which is designed to provide innovation support to eligible businesses within the West Midlands. There is also in depth consultancy assistance offered in the workplace to pinpoint key steps that can be implemented to facilitate the development and commercialization of new products. A match-funding grant of up to £7,500 is available to businesses to implement consultancy recommendations.

Oxford Innovation's Richard Hall has been confirmed as the speaker at the Innovate & Grow Your Business Workshop

Richard Hall has a wealth of experience in the high value electronic systems industry including defence, aerospace and security technologies. From 1980 - 2004, he worked for a range of blue-chip companies in the UK including: GEC-Marconi, Siemens-Plessey, BAE Systems and General Dynamics in roles from engineer to Business Director.

Richard joined Oxford Innovation (OI) in 2006 to help deliver the Innovation Advisory Service for the SEEDA Region. Providing innovation support to a variety of companies: large, medium, small; and across a number of sectors with a focus on engineering and manufacturing. Richard is passionate about Open Innovation and has created and delivered a number of well attended, high profile events to introduce SMEs to Blue Chip clients.

Oxford Innovation is the UK’s leading operator of Innovation Centres and manages a network of centres across the country that provide flexible office and lab space for over 400 high growth technology companies, a number of whom have floated on AIM.
